The Columbus Museum for years has been a leader in showcasing new and innovative works by emerging and established contemporary artists throughout the Southeast.  For the 2008 Columbus Biennial, the Museum is pleased to feature the work of a unique and diverse group of artists from Georgia and its five contiguous states: Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. From over 425 submissions, 11 artists were selected to represent the excitement of the variety of artwork being produced in the Southeast today: Kim Eichler-Messmer, Jody Fausett, Kazuyo Hira, Sinisa Kukec, Natalie Larsen, Beth Lilly, Mike McFalls, Christina Pettersson, Amy Pleasant, Sara Schneckloth and Collin Williams. The media represented include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, textiles, and installation.
